Originally constructed in 1926 by Murphy & Burns, Architects, this four-story, Italian Romanesque building was used primarily by companies in the field of graphic arts. It has a reinforced concrete structure with a cream-colored terra cotta facade, which extends over the first bay of the east & west elevations. The remainder of the building is expressed with the reinforced concrete structure with in-filled brick and industrial steel windows.
The concept for the typical loft plans pushes the bath/dressing room to the rear of the unit against the wall while combining the kitchen, bedroom, and living areas into one large open space. The bedroom has the possibility of separation with the use of a movable partition or curtain.
